Where the 20 percent applies
According to OnlyFans public pages, the same 20 percent is taken from all three ways you earn.
- Subscriptions, monthly or bundled
- Pay per view posts and messages
- Tips on posts, messages and your profile
There is no lower rate for bigger creators and no rate that drops after your first months. If you want the full breakdown with every line item, our page on how much does OnlyFans take goes through each one.

A hypothetical month in real numbers
Here is an example, not a promise. Say you have 200 fans paying 10 USD a month, you sell 1,000 USD of pay per view messages and you receive 500 USD in tips. Your fans pay 3,500 USD in total.
| At a 20 percent cut | At a 12 percent fee | |
|---|---|---|
| Fan payments | 3,500 USD | 3,500 USD |
| Platform takes | 700 USD | 420 USD |
| You keep per month | 2,800 USD | 3,080 USD |
| You keep per year | 33,600 USD | 36,960 USD |
The difference is 280 USD a month, or 3,360 USD a year, from the same fans and the same work. Want to try your own numbers? The creator fee calculator shows it in seconds, with no signup.
When the money reaches you
The cut is only part of the picture. Timing matters too. According to its public pages, OnlyFans has a minimum withdrawal of 20 USD, and new earnings sit in a pending period before you can withdraw them, about 7 days in many regions.
That hold is common across the industry because it protects against chargebacks. Fansti also holds new earnings for 7 days, then pays weekly with a 50 USD minimum, by bank transfer or crypto. Our comparison of OnlyFans payout options covers the details side by side.
Other costs that are easy to miss
- Your own time on messages. If you pay a chatter or a manager, their share comes on top of the platform cut.
- Promotion. Most OnlyFans fans arrive through your own social links, so your time on other apps is part of the cost.
- Taxes. Platforms pay you gross of tax in most cases, and you handle your own.
None of these change with the platform you choose, but the platform cut does. That is why many creators look at OnlyFans fees first when they plan the year.
How Fansti handles the fee
Fansti charges a flat 12 percent on subscriptions, pay per view posts and messages, and tips. You keep 88 percent of the price you set. The payment processing charge is shown to the fan at checkout as its own line and paid by the fan, so it never comes out of your 88 percent.
There is no monthly fee for creators and no promotional rate that expires. You get up to 3 subscription tiers from 4.99 to 199 USD a month, pay per view from 3 to 200 USD and tips from 5 to 500 USD. Read the full Fansti fees page for every detail.
Moving without losing your fans
Switching platforms works best when you keep it simple. Mirror your current tiers with the import helper, share your new link in your bio and in a message to your fans, and offer a short trial with a promo link if you want to ease the move. Fans subscribe again on the new page.
Many creators keep both pages for a while and send new fans to the one with the lower cut. Start on the Fansti homepage to see what you would keep.
Should you raise prices to cover the cut
Some creators try to make up for a 20 percent cut by raising their prices. It can work, but it has a cost. A higher entry price means fewer people take the first step, and fans who already pay may cancel when the price goes up. A lower platform fee gives you the same extra money without asking fans for more.
Here is a hypothetical comparison. To take home 880 USD from 100 fans at a 20 percent cut, each fan would need to pay 11 USD a month instead of 10 USD. At a 12 percent fee, 10 USD from each of the same 100 fans already gives you 880 USD. Same fans, same price, more money for you.
Tiers help more than price jumps
Instead of raising one price, add a second or third tier with extra content. Fans who want more move up, and fans who are happy where they are stay. On Fansti you can run up to 3 tiers, and each one has the same 12 percent fee, so moving fans up a tier never costs you a higher cut.
